3D Printing : Grocery Bag Holder and a Ash Tray Piston!

Two more things a friend wanted prints of.  The first is an piston ashtray @ 200 micron layer 235c and 115c hpb, 25% infill supports and raft as it printed on its side.  Print head speeds were cut in half. Apparently its a gift for another friend.  The filament is 3d2print's "Silver" which is more of shiny gray.

The second items was a grocery bag holder @ 300 micron layer 235c and 115c hpb, 35% infill for structural intergreity, and printed it at full print head speeds.  This is a gift for my friends girl friend.  The filament is 3d2print's Black.

3D Printing : Chip Bag Holders

A friend wanted some chip bag holders, to seal in the freshness, so he sent me the file from thingiverse,
I tried out a filament swap, oddly I'm using ABS for both the white and the blue and the layers between the two weren't as fused and so could be seperated, I used some superglue and some polystyrene adhesive to secure the layers eventually.  Turned out pretty cool.

Video : NINJAFLEX Filament - Its Stretchy and Flexible!

NinjaFlex filament is the latest experimental filament that i've acquired and
from the looks of it will give the makerbot industries "flexible filament" a run for its money, literally since the Ninjaflex is $50 for .50kg spool vs makerbots flexible filament whic run you $130.00 for 1 kg spool! A 30 dollar difference!

Also ninjaflex is supposedly supposed to function just like ABS so printers like my replicator 2x, in theory, should be able to print this filament with ease, while the makerbot flexible filament is only rated to print using the replicator 2, as it maybe PLA based, similar to makergeeks.com ecoflex PLA filament.

A third consideration that would put the Ninjaflex filament into the lead is the color choices.  Right now makerbot flexible comes in only white.  Ninjaflex comes in as you can see, Black, White, Blue, and Red.

This stuff is very, very, interesting.  Check out the video below to see how flexible and stretchy it is.
